Texas cichlid sex?

Can you get a pic with the dorsal fully extended?

Will try. I'm not seeing a blotch on the dorsal fin...but maybe sort of one? Lol

They shouldn't be, but people call them green Texas. Unlike h. cyano, they aren't found in Texas. It seems to lead to confusion when people call two very different species the same name. It doesn't make sense to me. I'm not sure what is so difficult about calling them h. Caprintis lol.

Agree with cichlid fish, since they aren't cyanoguttatus, don't come from Texas, and only look alike to the untrained eye, all it does is confuse. To me it is on the same level of as calling uropthallmus and festae both red terrors, or thinking because bifasciatum and hartwegi may both have red heads they are the same species.

Hey thanks...I got him from a local fish store here in Boise, Idaho...they had about 8 of them which they had gotten from a local breeder. I picked out one I thought might be a male. Lol
