Hello!!! Have had these two since they were tiny and I thought by now Id be able to tell the sex of them but not much luck, from what I researched they would both be males, amirite? Also Id just like to share them too, I love these guys, lots of personality. I was always under the impression Kanji (subject 1) was a male and the other was female (subject 2/Yukie). Cant really tell in the pictures but yukie is very round/fat. Should of gotten a different angle of him/her. Someone said she could be ready to lay eggs, but she has been chubby for a looooong while. These were the best photos I could get.. ancient camera. Also does anyone know where the red comes from?
Subject 1 (Kanji)

Subject 2 (yukie)

Yes, both are 100% males, good looking ones too.

damn theyre beast! ill second that theyre males.

Very very nice males. That is what a Texas is supposed to look like! I don't see good texas where I'm at ever. Yours look nicer than even some of the examples I've seen in books. I'm actually on my 3rd Carpintis. He was labeled a JD I think this one might make it he beat what was ailing him at the LFS(skinny disease and these weird growths in their mouths)

Sweet rescue =D and ty, I'm pretty proud of them, although I was looking forward to the humps which these guys don't have. Iv owned a lot of types of fish and these guys have to be my favorite. Going to check locally for a mature female and see if I can get some breeding going. I have never done it but seems like a fun Endeavor
