texas cichlid + sunnies =?

What is your location? Can you get wild caught from ur area? If the Texas was born raised and lived it'll life in a farm or aquarium then there would be a problem...

nope, texas cichlids are only in the deep south.
why would I not have problems with a wild caught, but would with a farm or aquarium raised?

only reason i say that is in a tank they wouldn't be used to the colder temps in their area range

I don't consider Oklahoma the deep south, but we do have them here in the southern parts of the state. Considering it freezes over almost every winter and even Dallas gets snow sometimes I think the Texas are pretty hardy once they get settled in unless there would be a sudden temp change.

I haven't seen them listed anywhere as being in OK, only in the rio grande in TX and mexico originally. then in FL and LA. even searching specifically for the info I can't find it.

that's pretty deep in the south. I have read we've spread them around quite a bit.
