Texas cichlid thread

love the texas line ! i have a texas and i am having trouble with it eating anything but insects ... anyone else have this problem ? It will literally starve itself .

Thank you, she's my favorite. The lfs I bought her from claimed that she was a hybrid but couldn't recall what kind.
For the longest time, she kept trying to breed with my oscar.

If she's a hybrid, then it'd DEFINITELY explain why the pearlings on her body are so perfectly in line and consistently sized. Also perhaps why she's so elongated. I've seen some Green Texans that have quite regularly patterned pearlings, but never to this degree.

I don't know what she could be hybridized with. She doesn't have spots on her side like most carpintis do, just a small tail spot.
