the head/face does look a bit different, but the coloration is that of a texas.

i am sure this is not a texas, but green texas "carpintis".

Looks like My Green Texas...........their colors get very pretty, it just takes about 4 yo 6 months of maturity to really POP. My Tex just laid eggs with my Jaguar. I'm sure that'll be different looking. Hope you enjoy your new fish......they have great personalities.

i dont think that is a texas
ive never known one to have a spot similar to a red terrors

My juve texas is about 3" and is exactly the same as yours mate.

Only thing he does do which i've never seen before is turn all dark under the mouth. It looks like he's wearing a bib.

It's only from the bottom lip down and covers right back to the pectoral fins. It does come and go sometimes aswell..

texas cichlid are silver body and tiny spots, that one look exactly like my green.
