Texas Dovii project

im pretty sure she was a carpintis she had big bright green pearls but the dovii killed her after this second batch of fry and four batches of eggs before she was over five inches but i don't think she was a escondido carpintis
 
Good looking fish. i also had fry with similar parents at one time. I had a female dovii and a male texas mate about two years ago. the fry grew with about 1/2 dovii body w/blue spangles and the other 1/2 had texas bodies with dovii markings. i unfortunately only kept two (one of each style) and sold off the rest to a local pet shop. I lost both fish last summer, when my heater malfunctioned and cooked them. i will search for some pictures, i know i have them somewhere..... i really like this hybrid and hope that yours continue to grow up as healthy fish. good luck

i hope so did any of yours spawn im hoping to cross the other two cichlid with them
 
i gave up on these guys and have em at a friends house their full of piss and vinegar last week the best looking one i had decided one morning to duke it out with a female redhead that was a half a inch bigger than him and they went for about twenty mins strait nearly taking an eye off the synspilum these hybrids are as mean as dovii and as energetic as texas a real hand full
