Only 3 threads going. Sorry just trying to figure out what things are. SO is that why I am not getting responses, nobody knows yet.

The dark spot on the dorsal fin, along with the long, straight head profile, suggests female. However, some males have a dark patch on their dorsal fin, and the head profile can change as the fish reaches maturity (males tend to have a steeper profile). My guess is that your fish is female, but time will tell.

Thanks all. Anyone know for sure if it is carpint or cyano or is it to early to tell? Sorry this is my first Texas and there is conflicting info online of how to tell.

Thank you that is great info. I only heard about the black spot. Good to know.
