I would but I got him in Seattle and it's 300 miles away. :(
ask if they can ship her to you, it's probably worth it. According to duanes duanes they only exist in a few small pools and it's the only place on Earth they exist

Here is a description of Herichthys minckleyi I got from the Desert Fishes Council web site.
It is the kind of info you need to truly identify any fish.
Trying to guess from a photo is a bit foolish, especially in this day of random hybridization where a combination of 2 or more fish does not necessarily look like either a mother or father. And today, with hybrids of 2 species being bred with totally different species hybrids, the exercise is to me totally ludicrous.

Yeah, but it's still fun. :)

Herichthys males, especially the Carpintis types will cross with almost any CA cichlids. They truely are the players of the CA cichlids. I would guess is some type of Carpintis Mayan cross but it could be crossed with any type of paratheraps. You can get a lot of strange looks from a cross spawn that look nothing like the parents.

I agree with this. So many people try to mix this with that to get traits of each fish, but that doesn't always happen.
Truth is we'all never know what it is. Especially if it is a hybrid, its impossible to tell what the mix is.
This is why it's important to buy from a creditable source if knowing is important to you.

It's not important. It's just fun to guess.
