It’s at a good size where it could start changing color. It really could be at any point though. Don’t expect him to be blood red like some others though, he likely won’t get too much redder than he is already.

Looks like an unfaded red texas. Doesn't look low quality too me. A nice looking fish, it just hasn't fade it yet. Some never do but unfaded red texas still can look awesome especially as adults.
No problem man I quite like this fish. It has some pretty good pearling but more so the body shape is on point, even better body shape than the red texas pictured by Deadeye which is a later gen red texas while yours looks like a good quality f1. It will come along nicely even if it doesn't fade but it were too it would look dope if it kept the pearls it has while fading into a light orange or something like that. Keep us updated on the growth of this guy or if he happens to fade some day.
