I got a small batch (40 or so, due to lack of space and time) of male faded ZZ X female cyan/blue texas. They are about 1 month old. Wanna trade frys when they are about an inch or so?

I would be willing to trade some fry with you. Although I am afraid your fry will only look like the fish that I got when my male spawned with a female fader. So far only one has turned out to be worth keeping the others look like a f*%&$d up version of a barred midas. I am still waiting for them to grow out as they laid eggs many times and I have all different sizes, from 1/2" up to 4". Then again I am not sure what that female was comprised of. I know for sure she had some blood parrot in her because I gave about 20 fry to my nieghbor and one turned out looking like a BP with black bars (very strange looking little guy).
Here's a pic of one of the 4" guys most of them look like this. I have seen a similiar hybrid fish listed as a blue star cichlid somewhere on the net. The pearls in this pic look yellowish due to the flash and lighting, in reality they are irridescent blue just like the dad. There is one little guy I am hopeful for who has very little or no pearls and very little of the black bars/spots, I am hoping he/she will fade as it grows. The mom did just that when I first recieved her she was red with many black bars as she grew the bars faded away and she was left with some minimal balck splotches along the top of her body. She has since passed away:rip

the fish in my avatar is fh x texas. i don't think they get big humps as early as regular fh, because texas don't get humps until they are older and texas humps aren't that big.

He is a looker, I hope the fry from this new pair come out looking good.

azn_boy AKA fish freak - thx, but I highly doubt I will get any rt out of them. tho, its a wishing of mine. :) Great thread btw.

toomanyfishes - that any too bad looking, hopefully it will get more speckles and hump as it gets older. And, guess what, I do see some eff-ed up looking frys, frys that have a parrot look like mouth lol

terminalMTS and rallyman -
Pretty cool fish you got there. Which type is the dad? the texas or the FH; How big/old is it? and the sex of the fish? you got any pix of the parents?

I'm trying to get a good refference as for what to expect from my frys. Trying to figure out if its worth it to breed another batch.

Here's a picture of one of my flowerhorn green texas cross (2.5"). It hasn't reached the peel off phase yet so the colors should come out more red. Their colors change as they mature.
