just got this beautiful crab a week ago, its purple n white anyone have any info on this type of crab? i had red claw and fiddler previously. net seems scarce about devils. thx

It will eat all your fishes and claw out of your tank like all the other crab that i had You need at least partail land so it can come up out of the water so it can rest and breath air. if you got any thing stick out of your tank it will us it to climb out of even filter pipes!(craws on boubbler tubes alot.) kept a tight lid. they are most scavengers. ever now and then it will have no problems catching it's own meal.(they don't grow big) in south east Asia theses crab are a food sorce for the people.

so far the devil (named Kabuki) is fairly mellow. wanders around climbs on large rock, but no escape attempts . i have a hood for tank, and its weighed down to keep my cats out of the water. i waited two weeks 4 this crab, and got a feeder goldfish to keep the tank cycling, fish is frantic but alive, gave kabuki a brakish bath yesterday. but i worry about molting... my redclaw died after molting ; a few weeks after eating my fiddler :( is there anything i can do to ease molt stress?

Keep the water clean from ammonia and nitrites. Get a test kit for ammonia and nitrites, the most important kits for an aquarium. Get the drop kits, not test strips. The drops are more accurate and cheaper per test.

Give it something to climb above water level.
