Thai green texas

These Thai GT are raised in ponds. They won't have kok when moved into tanks. I've had some before and they never had a kok like from the breeders pictures. There are other members that have had the same experience.

How do you explain the one I posted? He is in a tank...I'm not doubting you one bit as I know these fish are grown in huge ponds and sounds like you know your stuff. I'm just curious myself. I am going to give him ample space and a nice natural setting and hope for the best.
I have a fertile female GT and I was really hoping to get a nice project going. Even if he never grows his kok back, he is still a stunning fish w/out a kok. Perfect body shape, mouth, pearling.
I am good friends with some breeders in Thailand and when you have brought them a lot of business from yourself and others I am definitely getting a price break. I know someone was asking for a price, but the price the average Joe is gonna pay is gonna be much greater than what I paid for him, so if your looking for a price range, I'd say your looking at $250 after having them imported and transhipped from Julie(the best).
Here are some pics from the farm actually and not all have huge koks but definitely some nice humps. Over in Thailand they have them down to a science. So many years of experience and effort. I give these guys props.

And pure breeds change looks. They get the beautiful bright white head and blak throat. I dont thin the Thai GT can do that. Their blood is not pure like the true breeds..

Make me wanna pump this Vonti up because I know if he gets his head hump back on. He's All natur aL

not sure.. But to me line breeding is keeping the breed pure through out by using selected pure blood breeders.... Thai gts have a pedigree?

I believe these thai texas are line bred but not before a different species is introduced.
No need to argue or hate.

I agree and the one i have does change his brooding dress but different than normal green texas. He goes almost solid black until the fry were almost three weeks then went to a dull version of his breeding dress. He is getting ready to try and spawn again where his green just glows. He has a lot of growth to still put on i just let him spawn to make sure he was fertile. Another thing is he has the dark spot in his top fin like females do just like flowerhorn males can. It makes me think that a blue or green color based flowerhorn was used to make them. The fry i have growing now from him is from a so far non faded pet smart red texas.
