I just wonder why most high grade cichlids are from Thailand, is thailand a well known fish farm country? and what did they do to the cichlids in order to have better pearls or bigger hump on the head?

Are you talking about Flowerhorns?

Sounds like it.

Well. I think it's pretty obvious that things like hormones, steroids, and other such chemicals are used in the Asian breeding industry.
You can disagree, but it's beyond believable that they can magically accelerate evolution over there.

:iagree: I just got back from Thailand. I hunted for a fish farm but no luck. I think you can add antibiotics to that list of chemicals.

I agree.

You might get a better answer from one of the Flowerhorn experts in the Hybred section.

I thought the Carpintis "sp.Chariel" is just a locational variant. In other words, collected from Laguna Chairel, Mexico. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
