I have like 60 total fish in my sump over crowded but my 180 is not but I had bad experience with small fish in a big tank with my overflow lol
 
Flowerhorn breeders in Thailand somehow make it work with overcrowding their grow out bins. Imagine about 200 red dragons in a 300 gallon bin and no fin nipping. I think in that kind of setup, fish focus on competing for food than for territory. To get them to their full potential, they'll need their own space.

20 Midas/6 vieja/ 24 flowerhorns all in a 40 gallon sump lol all fry though ranging from half an inch to 3 inches.

I did have 6 of them like in the picture in another tank but they all were fighting like crazy especially the two big ones for dominancy.
I am pretty stoked I finally got some really nice fry I can grow out.

Pictures do not do any justice on these the pearls are insane even the 1 inch ones. I'll keep you guys updated.

Thanks and the alpha which is the only one not in the sump and currently housed in a different tank popped a kok. He's really aggressive and fed him blood worms and brine shrimp he's looking very good right now.

I saw your YouTube channel I like the fish you have!

Got it from home depot. Lighting diffuser. Its used in the trade for quite sometime. Then I use these suction mount tank divider just in case they were to bang hard enough. Its cheap and does the job. If you got fry you want to isolate they will go through so use some mesh and cover it. Just measure and make sure its smaller to fit with the suction cups leave half inch gap on each side. Most fish 2 inches and up will not fit through the gap.
