That Fish Place- has anyone ordered from them?

Speaking of Jersey stores,have you been to Aquarium Center's new location?

I have. I've always like them. Store is clean but the stock tanks are small. Haven't been in a while but met up Woefulrelic Woefulrelic there a few months back.

I haven't been back since then, saw they were selling retics so maybe the fish room is up to 100% now.

But since this change, I noticed mislabeled fish. For example their red flash thorichthys aureus is actually thorichthys maculipinnis. I bought what was labeled t. Mac/Ellioti and turned out to be a hybrid.
IMO I wouldn't order not only because of this, but what is on their website is not always what they have in stock.
I prefer to go to the store so I can see if it's the real deal. If I'M going to order, it would be from Rapps.

I visited TFP last month and was tempted to buy the T. aureus, but glad that I didn't as I suspect it's mislabled T. maculipinnis/Elioti. The two are closely related and I wonder how you can tell the difference in juvies. True aureus is very rare and hard to get today.

Every one says TFP is not as good as it used to be. Given so few good LFSs are left, it is still relatively the best in the region. It has more fish selection than any LFSs between Jersey and Philly, certainly 1000 times better than big box places.

I was at the Aquarium Center in SNJ last week. The display is great with better lighting and decor, just fewer tanks. The staff told me the total volume is about the same as in the old location. Price wise, it is still the best bargain in the region.

Even with the way it is now it may still be good enough for it's customer base and like you said,probaly still the best in the area.I hope it remains open for many more years but it is just not worth the near two hour drive(each way) for me anymore.
I loved the old Aquarium Center and I am eager to get over there and check out the new store.

I could tell the were t. Mac, because they were old enough. Plus there is no such thing as areus red-only gold and blue.
I bought 4, and attached a pic of one that made it to 3". All died off, because they all had internal parasites. As soon as I got them home, I noticed white stringy poop.
Don't get me wrong, they are the best LFS in the area. It's just their fish room isn't quite what it used to be.
