WOW ure arows have grown even more!!! pretty crazy bro but looks AWESOME! i just dont see ure RTCs eating those silvers tho.

My silver was much smaller than them wen i first put it inside the pond. i duno if i was just lucky or wateva but he did fine.

I mean as long as ure RTCs are well fed it shud really work out cuz ure arows are not just long...they are also fat and tall! good job man! hopefully mine will be of a similar sizeee wen i get back next week!!!

Believe my maid and I were very surprised when RTC ate silver aro - and not in a good way. Similar shock when the same RTC ate paima (got picture on MFK somewhere too). Surprise was not so much when he ate O. In any case, silver aros are so 'flexible" thus "get in my bellly" is not such a hard thing to imagine. I am very impressed by peacefullness of your community - gar and silver aro for example. my gar had a silver under his belt too.

In your case, i recon you were lucky. i recon my RTC could eat my 2' silver with no problems if it put its mind to it :irked: anyway, 8'x3' footprint should last for a while longer.

I am sure your silvers will be up for moving ^^ i fed mines food sticks, prawns and crickets - you fed massivore

I love that new fish feeling. Always makes me smile like a lil kid in a candy store. lol

haha dont get me wrong tho...i have to feed all my fish ALOT especially my pacu to keep them non-agressive....my gars are almost my smallest fish in the pond now! the paroon has overtaken them and the rtc/tsn hybrids have just hit a growth spurt so they cant be eaten....my arowana is longer and taller than my gars...kinda weird...i thot gars wud outgrow all my fish...but they havent. plus they always eat till they r so full they cant eat nemore...so i wonder why they stopped growing as fast...

And yehhh ure 8 by 3 footprint shud last very long for arowanas! a lot of space to turn! shud last them a few years at the least!

My arows grow very fast on pellets...but i feel like my arow in the pond is such a HUGE beast wen he started eating WHOLE dead fish from the market. i actually handfeed him. he is very brave and comes straight to my hand! quite scary tho. since he started eating pure meat he has put on SOOO much girth...like my silver arow lets me pet him nonstop now...and i cant even fit my whole hand around his body...thats how big he is now...hope to show u sum updated pics soon :)

Haha ctoychik.

My barbs are cow crap compared to your awesome fish. What i'd give for a black arowana and HBRTG Blue base. :headbang2

So what is your larget setup? I know TKs, bit hard to miss, but we don't see much of your RTC set up. More pictures!

What's wrong with barbs? i love these guys though the last comm of barbs killed off my swordtails :irked: and ate my neon fries.

My next project is a comm tank: neon tetra and swordtails and rasporas (barbs on the other side due to their nasty temparament towards others). Planted tank too :D with substrate and all that

Beleive it or not, it is more difficult to keep small fishes because the problems are not so obvious i recon - until it is too late

There are actually quite a fair bit of pix of my outdoor set-up. No where near in size as to TL's of course ;)

2009 was not a kind year to me or my beasties - I have been quite shell shocked after loss of 3 monster paimas in winter due to cold and loss of three massive gars due to father's tinkering later on... coupled with discovery of live pim in the sump just to have it die the next day when i was back to move him back into the main set-up (with a pacu!!!) laborers switched of the pump for their tools ... i have not had any heart in doing updates on the survivors: two RTCs, marble pim and O.

PS: don't know what to tell my GF who gave me my gar during last Soccer World Cup ... and the other gar was a gift from a friend (still have not told him too). My GF's gar was 90cm when dead (i still can not make myself do dead fish thread on the gars - but they were massive - believe me) ... not starting new gars though (still reeling)

PS: black aro is not so expensive -hmmm BB is quite pricey though.

They just don't appeal to me. I prefer larger fish like yours. This tank I eventuallt plan to turn around to a tank with altum angels and discus and a retic ray, and perhaps a asian aro, even tho it will break the SA theme.

you not worried that the pimas, gonna eat all your fishes when it gets bigger
