Yeah! Now that I think about it, a fish that big is pretty cool! I'll even be able to remark how cool it is for a long time. I found out they live for over ten years. Some people even say 30 years old! I wonder if mine will live that long.

that pleco was awsome but i belive it was lost in a pump failure along with lots of other fish. its a shame. yes get rid of the pleco unless you wanna get a huge tank(which wouldnt be a bad idea

I have a common one at 19" right now. He was 17" when I bought him around 4 months ago! Good luck. Mine lives in a 350 gal pond.

hmmm common. could be one of a few. Hypostomus punctatus gets to 12", hypostomus plecostomus 24". Lots are sold as commons, i've seen rubberlips and gibbys sold as commons too. post a pic.

ive had my common pleco for a little over a year now, well, two of them, they were both about 2" when i got them, i had them in a 10 gal, ha, until they got about 6" and 8", now theyre in a 55 gal, one is over a foot long and the other is about 8"
