I really need some answers. I need fasteners for the tubing for my pump it blew it off is the metal tightener thing the best thing i can do?

Also what about the output? would a spray bar reduce pressure? Whats the best way to make the spray bar? Should i hook it up to a larger output or larger spray bar so its not concentrated.

Well with my bumble bee grouper and my eel they need this large space. This is the settled size, i wanted 4ft wide. I respect the parents though, and i couldn't give up my BB grouper. Me and my family all love him, and sometimes my parents get fed up, but in the end they all love his curious personality.


Woul the metal tube holders that tighten with a screw driver work to hold my tube to the pump? You know the ones that come with the fx5? Would these be safe in saltwater?

If the pump is external, you can definitely use the metal ring clamps. They are very good (I use them extensively at work for both water, gas, and vacuum applications).

Not sure what you mean by reducing pressure? If you're worried about the amount of flow, you can put a ball valve AFTER the pump to restrict flow, or you can put a T after the pump with 2 ball valves and redirect some water to flow back through the sump. As far as in-tank goes, you can use a spray bar, or multiple return outlets.

The pump is under water . Thats why i am not to use what to use. Also i don't want the pvc busting. I worry about this cause i have my 1inch vinyl hosing going into 3/4inch pvc that i am going to make for a spray bar. It fits snug and with the metal ring clamps i see no problem with this other than pressure. Should i have the vinyl tubing going into a larger pvc, not reducing the output size, causing pressure and possible leaks.

Can you not use rigid pvc the whole way? Or even use the flexible pvc, which you can still cement into the normal rigid pvc fittings?

Also, it is better to not reduce the output pipe, but if its unavoidable (such as the size of the bulkheads in the tank vs. pump outlet size) then there's not much you can do about it. Unless you want to try drilling the tank to add new bulkheads.

Or you could add a T to the line, and send some of the flow back into the beginning of the sump. This will really polish the water, plus reduce flow traveling through the reduced size hose...

I can't hardline it because my pvc skills suck, and i would rather have bendable hosing. I am pvc retarded, it took me like 3 times to make my first pvc overflow lol.

Or you could create a standpipe from rigid pvc that connects directly to your pump, and simply extends the hose barb above the water level, and then connect your flexible hose with clamp there (this is what I did for my submersible pumps).

Hm i guess i could do that. I just don't want to use any more pvc than i have to. I just don't trust it for some reason, well i guess my plumbing skills. I guess i have a couple options...

Do they have plastic hose clamps?
