The 210 is in the house

The 210 with 75 gallon sump has made it in the house. I am excited to start plumbing tomorrow. I can't decide between sand or gravel?

Either substrate should work fine then. Go with whatever looks best to you.

Well the tank is plumbed, filled, and running. What is the best way to quiet down the sump?

I would go sand, most loaches love to dig! Plus, like many scaleless fish; gravel could be abrasive to their tender bodies.

sand and gravel will not work, sand will sink through the gravel in my experience
