How did you fit the drift wood into the tank? Did you have to remove a brace?
I had a friend who found the perfect piece of drift wood, shaped it, sanded the bark off and soaked it for weeks. went to put it into the tank and couldn't fit it past the braces. Now it sits on top of the tank!

It took about 30 mins and I broke a couple of branches and cracked some too. It was like a jigsaw puzzle!

Stirring the sand up was a perfect idea. Doing that and a water change is helping to get rid of floating particles that fish might stir up. And I Can't agree with Scohin more, MTS are the way to go. If you don't have an LFS near you, hit up aquabid. You can usually find a ton of them on there for dirt cheap. They are a Godsend in a sand bottom tank.

ok Im going to houston this weekend maybe I can get some there. You dont think the plecos are going to try to eat them?

fellow tx mfker. Nice driftwood man. Like the tank and if you can't get the snails there are always fish that will stir up the sand for you. What fish is going in first?
