Synodontus Decorus. African lake native cat.. gets about 12" and some really nice specimines out there. or going with the all over theme. Their are some nice decorus Crosses now around that are simply stunning cats and won't take crap from Cichlids. When I shut-down my African tank years ago I miss my Decorus the most. Very active and not shy at all.

Just went through all the pages on your thread. I love the tank(hope to get one this big one day) I like all the pictures on your progression. I recommend a demasoni African cichlid. It's a beautiful fish. How about 3-4 frontosa. I know they are more peaceful but that tank is huge so should be fine. Tagging allong also..

something that looks nice and would be able to hold its own in the tank and not cost a fortune. maybe a giraffe cat? something in that range, or something like a shovel nose or lima that only gets bout 12 inches
Giraffe Cats get much larger than 12". ;)
And all Shovelnose pass 12" as well.

what a bout lima? I will also have to look up some Synodontus Decorus also.

Thank you very much! I have tried to make this tank journal very informative. I am sure I will get a demasoni eventually because i still have a good bit of room for fish but I already have some blue in the tank and I really want to get some reds and purples and others first.

Frontosa or Green terror? I love both. Both get 15-10 inches. Gt's usually 12. Frontosa are very pretty, and Gts have personality out the wazoo!

SO Here is a update, I know its has been a while. I just got the parts for the eheim 2260 in today I just have to go pick them up. But today I decided to do some changes to the tank. The Back ground I had on there from pet smart kept getting water in between it and the glass and I couldn't keep it out. It started to look nasty and mold and it was getting on my nerves really bad. SO, I went and got a big piece of vinyl, (basically a big sticker) from the local decal shop here. It only cost me 15 bucks for a 96x30 inch piece witch is cheaper than what I spent on the original background at pet smart. It was kinda challenging to put on but I this this is a way better alternative than painting the back of the tank. And WAY less permanent!!! Here are some pics
