Hey there, as you all know, i've been planning on upgrading for awhile. And today is that day! Found a great deal for a 6x2.5x2.5ft tank. Got my dad to rally up some of his workmates to help in transporting the tank.

Here is the tank in the back of the truck

OMG THE SHEER SIZE OF IT IS MAKING ME EXCITED!
(hand for reference)

The package includes a stand and an 80g sump, making the total volume 360g! Berlin style i think....

So after a tedious task of carrying from the seller's flat on the 6th floor all the way to the truck and then back up 6 floors to my house, the tank was finally Home Sweet Home!

Ok we all know that biological filtration is the most important filtration in any aquarium tank. But don't you think this is going overboard? I mean there must be about a hundred or more bio-balls! Thats tons and tons of surface area!!!

Once the background is sticked and all the plumping is done, its time to fill up the tank. And some photos :P

After dosing Stability, the residents of my 70g are ready for their new home. They are a 12" ornate, 8" delhezi, 8" senegal, 13" ropefish and a 5" palma polli. And 5 apple snails :D

Massive upgrade from the 70g to a 280g. I'm in fact increasing the volume by 4x :WHOA:! Now my 70g looks more like a 10g when its beside the 280g.

For $380, i would say its a good deal. Thanks fellow MFK member (sorry, i forgot your user as your post has been deleted) for selling me this tank at such a cheap price!

Future stocking list

  1. Lapradei
  2. Endlicheri
  3. Retropinnis
  4. Albino senegal

Nice tank and bichirs.

Have you made sure that the floor can support the weight? Always a concern in apartments, especially on the 6th floor.

Yup no problems.

HDBs in singapore here are generally much more solid than average apartment overseas.
though a tank like this, i would have to notify them and apply for permission [I didn't :D]

Sweet deal and tank. Congrats!

Very nice matey, did you cycle it or just add the water from your old tank?

I took the matrix out of my FX5 and dump it in my sump, plus i unleashed a whole bottle of Stability army of bacteria into the bioballs as well.

great for you man. hope this helps with your family life. the tank looks great and i can feel your excitement, there's nothing quite like getting a new tank!!

also, do you have any details about the sellers thread? need to find out why it was deleted so you can up his marketplace rep.
