@James : Ha that might be quite awhile since a 6ft light would cost like 100~200. Still hoping someone would buy my FX5 so that I would have the $. On I might have to give up the ropefish. He keeps swimming into the overflow

Try adding some plastice eggcrate around the overflow. Might stop him.
What exactly is making the noise in the overflow? The water going over the overflow in the tank, or the water as it enters the sump?

Most, if not all highly populated Asian cities like Singapore, hong kong, shanghai etc. share a common buildng frame design. Concrete with Steel bars. Each floor is like 1' thick of concrete and steel bars.
Wood is usually for cabinets and such. Dry wall is hardly used.
