First off, awesome tank. Is that overflow part of the tank? And did you know that clown loaches can grow to over 13 inches.

The overflows are siliconed to the sides. I had some clown loaches that were 14yrs old but lost them in aquarium mishap. So I have started over and they are only a couple inches long.

I am still working on adjusting it. You can turn down the water flow out of the overflow box to the sump until its right near the top of the emergency overflow. It's just that the ball valves I put on are hard to adjust. I should have put on gate valves instead. I can still fiddle with how much water is in the tank,the height of the emergency overflows and how fast it's returning to get it just right.

If it were me I would make short dursos so that the water is not 'falling' so far. That is where a lot of your noise probably is. Plus they don't gurgle if that is what yours is doing.
