Love the filtration joey and awesome build overall, I am definately going to attempt a diy plywood tank myself you inspire me
Glad you enjoyed it.
Im loosing around 135 gallons. But i gain that back in the 110 gallon sump. I will also be connecting a 150 gallon holding tank to this system. So the volume will be a total of 665 gallons. I think im going to build a lid though, so volume might go up even higher.

Dont be jealous! I make the videos just to enable people to make stuff like this them self. One day you'll do something like this. I have been waiting to do something of this size for a long time. ALTHOUGH, its still not what i wanted. I would have much preferred at least 1200 gals, but i'll get my fill of "lots of water" in the spring when i build my pond.

In regards to applying the pond armor, I have heard of guys using a different color for the first coat so that when they are applying the second coat it is very apparent whether or not they have missed any spots. Hopefully that's not coming across as critical...it's honestly the only tip I could think of to make the build just a little easier for all the DIYers.

I have heard of that as well, but not being able to see the second coat is not the proper way to use it. To insure it works, it is gauged off of thickness of the coating. A thickness gauge is provided with the kit to insure proper application.

I moved them for 2 reasons. There are 2 pairs in my group. Moving them to the new tank broke the pairs up and all breeding stopped.(Obviously a move would, but the tank was too stressful for them in the long run)
The second reason is, i built a 310 gallon breeding rack for the 2 pair. So i moved them back to their 150gal while i awaiting the pairing up/egg laying to start again. I'll then move the pairs to the breeding rack, and the rest can go back into the 540gal.
