true green terrors have white trimming, but so do silversaums. You see, there are three fish generally called GT's, which are Aequidens sp. Goldsaum, Aequidens sp. Silversaum, ans Aequidens Rivulatus. The rivulatus is the "true" GT, but to be honest, they are rare, expensive, and there aint a whole lot different than the others. BTW, none of them grow fast or are agressive, and most specimens top off at 10". If you want a large growing agressive glassbanger, a GT is not the fish for you.

heres big cichlids green terror.....http://s127.photobucket.com/albums/p143/BIG_CICHLID/?action=view&current=100_2774.flv

The "true" GT is NOT A. rivulatus. It's an scientifically undescribed "sp."

And the "true" GT's do have some white on the edge of the unpaired fins, but it's very slight. Much less than a gold or silver saum.

True a. rivulatus are extremely hard to come by, so mostly for GT's, gold and silver saums are what most people have. But its not like aequidens is only made up of GT's... there are, for example, A. Pulcher and A. Diadema

I have a juvie gold saum, as well as a 6" diadema. I love the gt's but I think the diadema is gorgeous. Here's my diadema. They don't get quite as large as the gt, but they have such an array of color. You really can't go wrong with ANY of the aequidens.....

Here are some photos of some of my Aequidens sp. Atabapo.

Crazily spangled small Aequidens Very Peaceful.

This is not the true "Aequidens sp. Atabapo" that is more like a metae but from the same river system.
