Been rewatching Andy Woods’ vids lately and seeing his Umbee “Crazy Joe” and his Dovii “Mr. Wolfy” got me thinking.
We all know the average hobbyist isn’t quite equipped to truly give these fish what they need. Andy has said quite a few times that he’d rather something larger for them.
So let’s say we all had space for something pretty adequate, maybe like a 10 footer by 3.5 by 3.5.
You have the choice of a male Umbee or Dovii to grow out (starting at 6-8 inches), which fish are you picking and why?
Keeping in mind their personalities/nature at that age/size, how it’d change as they grow, growth rate, color change, overall size/shape, response to a variety of foods, perhaps which one would even take well to dithers etc.
This question isn’t more so about what’d you prefer to put in there fully grown, but more so which fish you’d find more rewarding growing from a juvenile to an adult, based off many of the things listed above. Just some food for thought I suppose.
