The art of war

Anyways, interesting topic. I thought it was cool that there are rules. But then like u guys said, it is war

If there are no rules, then should people not be held accountable for war crimes? Like torturing prisoners and such? Just wondering how everyone feels

Hello; As stated by others it is no holds barred if a side is losing. There may be a few rules at the start of a conflict but the losing side is most likely to use anything they have as the end approaches.

Who's to say something is a crime in war?
Hello; In general the winner gets to decide. More to the point may be that most of us can come up with actions that we consider "war crimes". Maybe it is like pornography in that it can be hard to define but we know it when we see it.

who's to say? a lot of people. offenders actually get punished for war crimes.

we can't just capture people in a war, castrate them and feed their genitals to them and then feed them laxatives and then make them eat their genital diarhea. i'm pretty sure you'd get in big trouble

Genital diarrhea?

After WWII (I think) they formed the International Criminal Court in the Hague to prosecute war criminals.

The ICC does not have universal jurisdiction to impose its morals/laws/beliefs on all humans. The USA is not bound by this court, nor is Russia, China, India, or many other countries. It's a nice idea, but unless everyone agrees to play by the same rules, there are no rules.
