First, I'm a big fan of 3D...but let my offer you a down to earth opinion.
I always look at 3D as having 2 parts to it. First: the part where objects pop out of the screen and scare you. The second part is were there is an onscreen depth perception. I have always been pleased with the second part in any 3D movie I've seen. The first part has always disappointed me due to the lack of.
Avengers had a few times of the first part... enough to make me twitch once or twice, but seemed average compared to other 3D movies.
I'd say stay your course, If you don't really care for 3D movies then don't spend the extra money. If you like 3D movies and have the extra money... see it.

the second part is all i expect, i'm not expecting it to be a thrill ride from universal studio. just great depth perception
nah chris, you know this sun isn't going to last too long. i can't waste 3 hours in a theaters. if you're going to say go at night, forget it, there's other things i'd rather see in 3d if you know what i mean = )
I can't stand any 3d, it reminds me of those cheesy "holographic" video games they used to have in arcades in the mid 90s. Or the failed video game system VR boy

I hate super hero movies and all that *** marvel/DC crap. I did however really like the Ironman series, cause they aren't like your typical nerdy super hero movie. It was like a witty comedy action movie, felt like it didn't have much to do with comic books (although I know it did)
Avengers to me, was just Iron man 3. Robert downey jr was the only character that did ANYTHING. thor and captain america sat around doing nothing for half the movie. samuel L jackson who is supposed to be some kind of hero did nothing past the first 10 minutes. and scarlet johansson also follows this same problem.
I thought gerard butler (is that a hero too? very imaginative a guy with a bow) was a bad guy and when he joined up with them I found it hard to know if he was a regular guy or a "hero".
All in all the only characters in the movie I actually knew were Iron man, the Hulk and thor. I do have a life and have never read a comic book so I would've been more confused, if the movie didnt give robert downey jr 80% of screen time. although I like this.

Tried to catch the 5pm show, sold out so gonna try the 11pm if kids fall asleep early, if not, gonna have to be next week. Damn this thread, i haven't been this anxious for a movie in a while. And its all because of you guys.
Thanks for the input borg. But the wife is goin with, she hates 3d and don't care for it so that helped decide since i was on the fence about it. I like it but can do without it also.

I'm actually trying to avoid that other 3d tonight. This whole week my wife's hormones been working ot for some reason so i been feeling used like a piece of meat.
Edit: can a man complain AND brag at the same time? Because i think that's what i just did,......
