This is the 1.0 pastel I got from NARBC. I didn't realize how thin he was until I brought him home and weighed him. 60g!!! His head is slender, and I kicked myself for not paying attention more at the show (I was selfish and looked at price and color
After about four days, I tried offering a F/T medium mouse, he refused it.
Last night, offered another thawed mouse, left it in the feeding tub for an hour, nothing.
I started getting worried because this snake weighs nothing in your hand, which is not normal for a baby bp.
Today is feeding day again, so I got two small mice, and a rat pinkie from the herp store.
I offered the pastel a live small mouse, no interest. I killed it (as I normally would) and still nothing.
My back up was the rat pinkie, I left it in his hide to not stress him as much as possible, and when I turned away to feed the other snakes, he had grabbed it.
Poor snake is so weak that it couldn't even kill the pinkie after 5 minutes and tried to eat the pinkie live, so I had to reach in and kill it for him as he started eating it.
So, this should get him some much needed weight, and I can finally sleep easy knowing that all my animals are eating well.
