the bass made me do it!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
dont want to speak for Rida but i have been asking alot of questions of him trying to learn more about cichla. He suggested to me that when young its ok to feed feeders but a varied diet with non live is better with older fish . Im sure with the ocasional treat its ok maybe not .Alot of keepers here seem to think live lfs feeders are bad for the health as adults! As for me Im just learning this cichla game .But i love fish in general so you always want to do what you thinks best for the fish!

lol ! but for crying out loud they are predators, danios, guppies, minnows, smelt, lancefish, goldfish. live or dead.

shrimps, krill.
and then suplement with all the dryfood stuff

HULON, thanks for the answer, nice straight reply.
I only asked because i have fed my mono´s up from 5-6 cm. to 20 cm. in 3 months on a diet like this, and look sharp and alert to me.

Ya HAHA that they are!And you shoul see thier expresion change when you have been giving non live then toss some feeders in.They do come alive!!The whole thing with getting farmed feeders is they are usually in bad health and disease ridden! So raising your own would be better.Thats all.

HULON keep up feeding your fastgrowing, fastmoowing, cichlas with lots of whole fish, live or dead. Suplement with shimps or krill ,whole, for extra fibre and color. If you think they need a little extra, give them hig quality dryfood, or better, feed your feeders, high quality dryfood and feed them to your cichla´s lol
