You guys realize that in a closed canister that the "head" is negated by the gravity feed effect right? As long as the highest point of both the intake and output tubes are the same the pump dosent have to fight gravity, just the tubeing (length/bends), the media and overall design.

I was specifically referring to how to identify an Eheim pump that no longer has the manufacturer label attached.
I did not say anything about the head height of a canister filter. The 2260 filter with a 1260 pump has a maximum recommended installation height of 59" between the filter base and the water surface with equal hose lengths and recommended filter media amounts. These are the specifications of Eheim and are available on their website.

Can one of you test the actual gph your 2262 gets? I just started another thread called ACTUAL gph so we can see which filters actually get what. I have a 2260 modded with "model 9.5b utility pump" which is rated for 950gph. It gets 225 gph, but doesnt seem like its broken or anything....wondering if mines faulty or thats the actual flows people get.

Here is my pic of the 1260 versus the 1262 pump cover or volute

Notice the difference in the center hole. But there is also a difference in the wattage of the two pumps. That would have to be verified with a clamp on amp meter or similar device.

Here is a picture of the 2 pumps side by side

Hope this helps, Dee

HAVE YOU TRY TO INTERCHANGE THEM TO SEE WHAT YOU GET AS FLOW

No I haven't. The pump volute or pump cover will fit either pump. The difference is the wattage of the pump. I'm pretty sure that also has a bearing on GPH produced.
