the beginnings of a new filter

Looks pretty crazy....

I'm not sure I understand the purpose of all the bends. I always thought it was better to avoid too many right angles as they reduce water flow. Maybe if you drew a diagram or added some more info I would understand it better.

Good on you for trying new things..:)

i tried to avoid a bunch of 90 degree angles but i couldn't find any 180's for it so i did the next best thing. basicly the top one is the overflows and the bottom one is the the inlet that pumps the water back into the tanks

nice. post pics of it up and running. I just setup a wet dry and i'm having trouble with keeping the water level constant and its pissing me off. Will have to PM chompers soon

Looks interesting:D

There is one problem you may run into. All joints need to be very precise, and the tanks need to be the same height. Any difference will effect the over flows. This can result in one tank not being filtered after a few hours. I built a similar system last year for a fish store, and had many problems fighting this. Lots of ball valves eventually fixed the problem.

I have a similar setup with drilled tanks.I adjusted the return by the # of holes drilled in the spraybars.Lets see the sump.
