CAE. The only trouble with the CAE is that it gets aggressive with age. In my tanks, i just do it by hand. Also I mostly have goldfish, and they keep algae pretty much in check themselves.

imma go off the beaten path and say fei fengs are great at eating algae , but thats just my opinion lol . but not for acrylic tanks , they can scratch em up
I would clean by hand or try snails, but the most algae is on my christmas moss and that requires a fish's touch...

SAE Siamese Algae Eaters are my weapons of choice. Don't get the Flying Foxes often mislabeled SAE.
