I have 5 tanks all with HOB filters and would like to add bio balls to all of them...need help tho, which ones are the best to buy and is there a brand that I would never have to change out just maybe rinse off with tank water?
Thanks in advance

I'd go with bio max instead of bio balls I know deep blue started making bio balls with different things Inside like little sponges soaked in nite out little biomax pellet some with carbon and a couple other but I have bio max in my emperor 400 hob

Plastic pot scrubbers are great Bio-media and cheap. I'm also trying the API Bio-Chem Stars in one of my filters, not cheap but a lot of surface area. Jury's still out on them I haven't had them in that long.

2 of my hob filters are emperors 1 is a 280 and the other is 400...so bio max is what im looking for?? Im on it

i find that bio ball are a waste of money, well in my case they are. where i live bio balls sell for 3-5 pesos each, so i use pot scrubbers and lava rock for my sump

Where are you located?? I think I would rather do bio balls tho its not that expensive for me
