  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am here in akron Ohio and I have more odd balls then lfs around me. My house is filled with fish:headbang2. Let me know if there is a special fish your interested in. I also price match any store in ohio. My prices will always be better.

I really wanna check out Aquatics and Exotics but it about 5 hours away

Do it.

Last time I was there, they had some sweet stuff. Atlantic rays, sulcata tortoise, gulper cats, smoothhound sharks, wobegong shark, lots of other stuff.

And stuff you typically see, silver aro, big RTC, clown knife, oscars of all sizes, couple of different bichir species... decent sized EBJD, like 2-3"...

And the 10,000g shark tank ;)

There isn't much near you other than what was said. Pets choice pleasent valley rd in south of cleveland had tiger musky and sturgeon before. I think they got more into africans, but they were hit or miss. Prices were always very cheap always half or more than that of the old aquarium adventure.
That real old aquarium plant store in independence had longfin senegals and big ebjd once, but they sell mostly plants.
Yeah pets choice is nice but they almost always have the same stuff as everywhere else tho I did buy a nice stable NTT up there a week ago
and Trickers have been "updating there fish room" for 5 years now but they have amazing plants and good prices on what they have still no fish really

I know you are looking for local stores but you can always try your local aquarium society for oddball fish. Membership is usually a minimum yearly fee.

There is an upcoming auction from the Ohio Cichlid Assoc. on Feb 13, 2010 in Strongsville that will have Cichlids, Catfish, Plants and Dry goods available. I'm planning on going as I've heard there are excellent opportunities to pick up good deals.

How do I go about joining do the have a site or are they affiliated with any stores near me?

Yeah man you need a new city, cleveland has mostly what tfd has or bread and butter. What your looking for..your probably best off to buy online because gas will cost you more than just paying shipping. Either that or your making a trip to philly, chicago, bufffalo, if you want the real uncommon noncaptive bred fish. Cleveland has a nice market, you could maybe ask because those stores keep in what sells not what is oddball because those fish are expensive and most regular fish keepers complain about 5dollar fish.
Best of luck, but it seems most get fish from the same distributor other than somethingfishy.

Thank you and I hope to see you there
