The "Best" Lungfish

Which lungfish has the most appeal to keepers (physical appearance, attitude, size, any other factors combined). My lfs can order most species. Tank will be 100g growout tank till 12" then the 300. tankmates are all larger fish who all get along.

The reason why im asking is because i didn't ask the payara people the same thing and just got a scomb when i obviously would have wanted a armatus.

SAL is also a hit or miss. Most will tolerate other fish when small but when they grow big they will sometimes act like an african lungfish. The unpredictable nature shows up. They also hate other lungfish species. Only the AUL is the most non-aggressive lungfish and can go along with any species. They are only feisty when they are 5" or smaller, but most harm is due to starvation.

However aggression is not really an issue in my tank, as I pretty much comm them all together, lol!

I'm getting an AUL tomorrow, so that's my fav :)
 
If money is no problem get an aussie lungfish. They seem to be the best in the bizz. They look awsome too. I will be getting myself one also. Found a loca group buy for them. I also have a west african lungfish, they are nice but very mean. King els comm for them is like 1in1million that it would work. Don't go out and try what he did becuase they will probably kill eachother,LOL. SAL can be kept with fish but like king el said they can go crazy and kill your fish. As long as the SAL gets lots of food he should be pretty chill. But all in all aussie and south american lungfish would be the best type of lungfish for you.
 
In terms of Agression, AULs are the least, Afros are the highest, and SALs are in-between. I suggest SALs, since they are cheaper, have less red tape involved in getting them, and have had many comm success stories (Mishaps have occurred, but not as much as with Afros).
 
Aul grows the biggest, lives the longest, is the most peaceful and IMO looks the best. Only negative is the price tag. You don't need to buy a replacement very often though. Usually once a lifetime is enough!

go with the south american or the australian lungfish the africans can get 4 feet long and will snap at anything even you!!!!
