Is to regularly deworm (I know correct terminology is to say worm them but that sounds dumb) them with CZ Aqua Clear. Fish can get internal parasites from stress alone and this stuff WORKS. Get it online from all4fish. Com free shipping or wherever. Your fish will thank you! Just sharing from experience I ordered flowerhorn from Thailand came with white poop and this stuff did the trick. The metro and prazi and api cure was such a waste...

Are you suggesting the periodic treatment of an asymptomatic fish? I just did some googling around and nowhere can I find a list of ingredients for CZ Aqua Clear. If a manufacturer doesn't want to list ingredients, it's not going in my fish. I also don't agree with the "periodic" dosing of medication for no apparent reason. Fish kept under proper parameters and in the correct environment shouldn't be stressed to begin with so there should me no need to medicate as a preventive measure.

Only way I can see that happening is if such organisms are already present in the tank and when the fish's natural defenses are compromised either by way of injury or stress then those organisms can affect the fish.

I forgot where I read but it definitely was scholarly and definitely said shipping along can cause your fish to be infest. Whether it's stress that weakens them enough for a manifestation or what I do t know.

That's exactly what I'm suggesting. Why do I worm my horses once a month, they show no symptoms but it's like ... A thing you do, as well as the cats. I'm sure if I had other species they would have routine workings whether they "showed" symptoms or not. That's what workers are for... To be done routinely. Are you suggesting you should always wait until you have a problem and then find the solution? I'd much rather be on top of things.

OP...how did you deduce that your FH had internal parasites?

Prior to shipping, most sellers won't feed the fish and they will sometimes poop white on an empty stomach.
