The bicher eel, or dinosaur eel

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
He's eating regular fish food too... But I do incorporate bloodworms as his diet... Thanks for the meal suggestions! I'll post some pictures today or tomorrow....

IMPORTANT

i have had three for 6 months now and i bought them small like 3-4 inches and had them with snails and ghost shrimp. they ate EVERY one of them within the week watch out but other than that good luck there one of my favorite fish

I cut up Shrimp for a staple for my fish. Pellets are the way to go. But only a few of my fish will eat pellets.
How about Dino for a name?

Hmm, thanks for the name idea, and I'll watch him, he seems to be behaving... Right now... Thanks, I'm going to get some glo fish and some more cori catfish... I am wondering, will this little guy be okay with them?

Corys might be a bad idea as he may try to eat them one day and choke on their spines. Cover your tank asap, all it takes is a little curiosity on his part and he's gone. Bloodworms are good for now, he'd probably love some frozen brine shrimp or beefheart, once he gets bigger try hikari sinking carnivore pellets.

Short answer NO, they will be eaten within a month and as said the Cories spines will choke him....Senegals when full grown can eat 3" fish so all of his tankmates will slowly be eaten away...I feed my Sen and Endli, Krill, Massivore and Bloodworms....Have fun with your new Bichir (Be ready to get more)

Ain't it the truth. I got my first senegal as a companion for my African Knife, next thing I knew, I'd set up a bichir species tank.
They'll do fine with similarly sized fish, but if they can swallow it, sooner or later it's toast.
BTW, ghost shrimp are kind of like Snickers to most predatory fish.
