I noticed my 12.5" silver Aro eating crickets today. In his first bite, he snagged 7 very large crickets and swam around with his mouthful, a few hanging legs.... I knew he could not
eat that big of a mouthfull, he had to breathe and out popped all 7 crickets, still alive and kicking. Then he gobbled them right up.

So what is the BIGGEST MOUTHFUL you've seen an Aro take, it counts as long as he can close his mouth and hold it for a few secs. Legs and wing tips are OK. Whatever the food may be, what's the biggest you've seen? Put down the size of your Aro cause it matters on this one, pound for pound......
pics welcome
let's hear some ole' fishin' stories!:WHOA:

That's one greedy silver you got there. I haven't seen this kinda act on any of my aro but the only common sighting is them swollowing the whole feeder immediately.

too bad he was part of the food chain too...

I should have got a pic but it was so hard to look at that fish hanging out of the other aros mouth. I'd say that was the biggest mouthful.

So arowanas have high canabalistic tendencies?.

Mine did:(

In order to keep silvers together you need a huge tank and about 5 silvers.

There is always an exception to the rule but it's uncommon.
