I think I’m getting thrown off by you saying 8%.

In your 2nd calculation, 11 ounces of salt comes out to roughly 0.08%, which is where you want to be according to the one study on murray cod.

To achieve 8%, you’d need way more salt

Yeah the first calculations were based on number of teaspoons per gallon. Same ratio I used to treat ick. But in the 225 I went up to 7+lbs and it never returned. I just roughly halved it for the 125, using over 3lbs. Just piled it directly on the substrate and the fish ate it too. I probably wasn't clear on what I was reading in the article.

An update: Furan-2 didn't arrive yesterday, very annoying. I'll have to track it. Fish are acting much more normal, swimming around. Outlaw Baby still MIA from what I can tell. One java plant has a dark circle on a leaf. Will monitor to see if the salt is bothering it. The other java is unaffected.

Will do a partial w/c before adding the next round of meds.

Update!

30% water change and Kanaplex/Furan-2. The fish were all acting pretty normal today and swimming around the bottom. As expected, the hierarchy is shuffling. Brutus, the biggest hrp in the tank has gone from being a gentle giant to just brutal. He's especially rough on his younger brother Deuce, the only other remaining pink marble. Sadly, I think Outlaw Baby has gone on to bigger and better things.

Shade, Mote and Bumper as the largest remaining striped males hold their own. The two smallest Fric and Frac mind their own business. A lot of shuffling today which tells me everyone is feeling a lot better.

So the population of the 125 is down to 7. The mob order goes like this:

1. Stripes shank stripes
2. Pinks shank stripes
3. Pinks shank pinks once stripes are gone

Long story short, Stripes shank stripes and Pinks shank everybody.
