The California-legal Stingray

I was at a fish store in the bay area this weekend and they had some CA-legal freshwater rays. I'm pretty sure this was the freshwater Atlantic stingray.

Are there any others besides this ray that are legal to own in CA?

What makes these rays different? I mean, they produce a huge amount of waste, but what else is different?

they are technicly salt water rays that have been acclimulated to freshwater
