well i only have rio meta and rio negro. my bigger guys are unknown/un-ID'd and Mike has that awesome one but he wont share the collection point.
but we need a thread for all baby pbass, not just orinos

I think that's great idea. One thread designated to one species or actually better "collecting point". Years from now people will appreciate what's done.
We've seen Rapps' kelberi progression pictures all over this forum. To ID kelberi few months ago was kind of difficult, but now seems like fairly easy. It will be nice to other cichla species.

thats a good idea, i nominate James! since we have all these baby orinos floating around, there are more than enough pic. in fact, we should try to get a sticky made that shows how to ID baby pbass, so people dont end up getting fooled into buying something they didnt want

Check out these baby Pbass that I thought were Orino's back when. Look at the perfect round Occe's with the gold rings, with difference being that the thick stripe on the tail extends to the end. All the true baby Orino's that's been posted does not have this. You should put together a picture compilation of baby Orino pix's. I was heavily fooled when I picked up these baby's =-(

These ended up being No-Orino's so people should beware when looking to buy.

The second picture is from member carcinoma who bought baby orino's from me years back (pix w/watermark). These don't have the black stripe that extend through the tail.

I think those are similar to what joey posted previously. They are sold as peruvian Mono/Ocellaris from rio Itaya in Peru. Technically only Mono are found in Peru. Check out these pictures. The way gold circles are formed are not the same as Orinos. Although they are not orinos, they are beautiful cichla in adult and in fact they are sold more expensive than orinos in japan.

DAyyyum xtank....I think I like those more than a lot of orino's. The colors...yellow, neon and orange. INsane!
