Thank you for this. Your tanks inspired my current build. Very natural looking.

I have a question on the wood piece you wrote. I went and collected some wood from little creeks by my house a few weeks ago. I scrubbed them down and have been soaking them in my spare tub. I always start with hot water and let the wood leach out.

My question is, I'm sure they are not conifers and are deciduous trees...just not sure what type. Is there any test i can do before putting it in my tank? Also, is the drying period outside required?
