If you say so.
I too have been keeping and breeding channa for a long time.

Channa rule number 1. lots of foliage, both mid water and top.
Channa rule number 2. Channa kept in species only tanks.
Channa rule number 3. Sub-tropical Channa need SUB TROPICAL temps.

But hey, don't take my word for it...

Hi.
22 is fine for a couple of summer months.
Keeping them in 22 year round is not.
Keeping them with different species is not.
Hiding places are great, but you have a bare tank. Do you know the foliage a Channa tank needs?

You say you know your fish, then great, you should know how to keep them properly.

The pic in my display is old he has gravel bottom with lots of hiding places with pots wood an rocks, thanks for the info will drop it down in the simmer months. Thanks for heads up. An mate am not going to kill my auranti for the price he was I will look after him like I do all my pets

Not trying to be a critic but i'd advise you to listen to tokyo. Sure he may be fine but if you do some minor changes and listen to him, your auranti will behave completely differently and for the better. He's one of the most knowledgeable snakehead keepers around

gorgeous auranti though, and damn expensive i might add

Ye I no was bit pricey worth it though an have moved him out now Into a 200l for the moment temp at 20 not much of a change just yet sti early days though. Thanks for the advice guys, sorry if I was abit rude

no need to apologize :) I used to keep my channa at higher temps so that i could community them with my other fish but since establishing species only tanks with the appropriate temperature and setup you really get to see amazing character from your fish. Most of my channa will aggressively swim against the glass and flare at people. Overall, they're just way more active and far less shy
