Why is it that they charge for many of the articles if we're paying the $25 annual fee (or am I looking at the "wrong" articles)? I'm new to CRC, so if someone could enlighten me, that'd be great.

I believe that's up to the specific author of the article. Some write them for free and some (maybe they put a little more time into them or something) want some money out of it.

Have you noticed any major differences in the articles that they charge for (longer in length, more up-to-date, etc.) relative to the ones that are free to view?
Another great - although poorly cataloged - source of info is the ACA's back issues of the Buntbarche Bulletin. It's free with membership...like 30 years of them.
