Haha that's a good story. Poor little fish though. Sucks you lost the oscar so soon :-/. My red devil tank is by the door to the wash room and anytime my gf goes in there he flies to that side of that tank and hangs out there until she comes out so he can flare up at her.

amazing fish man damn... wish i have a fish like tht.. and ure's to have faded to white is simply cool it's really hard to differentiate btween red devil and midas ehh?

haha yeahh, prbbly it's because they are easy to keep, eats almost everything and prbby the most dog-like fish haha

I started keeping fish when I was in HS, had a bass, then sunfish later.then kept africans but they lacked the interaction I was used to from the natives.I saw a pair of texas(cyano) in a fish store guarding fry, that was 1st time I saw that and was hooked.i had a RD but learned the hard way as he outgrew the tiny 55.at the same time I was also trying to have a few CA cichlids in another 55.the male texas mated with the female jag and I saved some fry.I learned a lot about behavior, breeding and the needs of the fish as my now texasXjag hybrid grew.that was about 7 years ago. Here he is- complete nut splashes water, bites and plays like a dog.cichlids are the best!
