Awesome! Congrats, I can't wait to see that beast up and running!
I enjoy seeing people getting new tanks and upgrading!

Can't wait to see your O in there once everything is setup and done :D

i dont want to bring you down or nothing but make sure its a 70 gallon ive bought stuff off craigslist and they say it a 100 gallon but really a 70 gallon
just messure it out

whoops o.0 yall are right. my bad! still got a sweet deal. $100 for all if i remember?

the tank is practically perfect too, the plastic is a little faded, but the actual glass only has one scratch that i can see (and will put on the back ).

ill get around to fixing my sig evenutally D:

everything i got-
the tank
the stand
2 power bricks
a 50g filter (no media)
a 30g filter (no media)
two under-gravel filters, will probably just use the powerheads. idk yet.
a big air pump (thats all i know :D)
a 3 valve gang-valve thing
two lights and hoods
a few other assorted things like nets

i feel like a bandit! :headbang2

Great find Conor! You can get some wicked deals off Craigslist! :headbang2 I know the bandit feeling though, I have found some good deals on there. Perhaps large frequent water changes may help once the O is full grown? I am not for sure at the moment what their max size is, and I am not really sure what a minimum size tank is for an Oscar. But hey, even if you do have to upgrade, you have some time for your O to grow and to scour Craigslist for a deal on a 75 or even a 120!

yeah im afraid i may have to donate him to a friend/aquarium store before he outgrows the 55 though. im going to college in a year and im afraid i cant quite get away with a 4 ft tank in a dorm..

but if i get an apartment... :naughty:

There have been rumors of 17"+ Oscars, but I haven't seen any absolute proof that they get to that size, but I know some can get to at least 14" (but I think some stop at around 12", just depends on the genes and care I guess). I'd say for a single average sized adult oscar, a well filtered 75 gallon would be the minimum.
