I have now brought the total up to 10 snakes:
my rosy boa (not pictured)
4 diamondback watersnakes
4 mississipi green watersnakes (i think..)
1 texas rat snake.
First up, the diamondbacks. most of whom are friendly.
the smallest, my favorite for handling and the first one i caught: roughly 2 feet
the best colored, but meanest one:
about 2.5 feet, the only one to have successfully tagged me.
recognizable by the mark on the right side of the base of his head.
the skinny one: about 3 feet. reminds me of a king cobra when he moves. belly is white instead of orange/yellow. definitely need to fatten him up some, he also has some pretty nasty scars, as well as the lack of the end of his tail.
for reference on how skinny he is:
The Big Boy. about 3-4 feet. nice and calm (the big one pictured above)
The Mississippi green watersnakes:
The biggest one, blind in one eye.2.5-3 feet
the calm one: 2 feet
the not-so calm one. 2 feet. it was a wonder i was able to get him this still, he's a spaz.
the smaller one: 1.5-2 feet.
The texas rat snake: 4-5 feet. handles well. has eaten a rat since i've got him. (however unwillingly...)
and since i know you guys all love cage shots, here ya go:
