So here we go with a new thread. Will be updating as I get more pictures and other good stuff. If you would like you can check out my current (for mow) 75G planted tank here

The stand for the tank is a DIY and not quite finished yet. Still need to find hinges that are not self closing. Procrastination doesn't always pay off. If you are interested, you can check out the blog here

I would like to thank Dragonflyx2 for the granite painted background DIY thread. I think it looks really awesome!!! Can't wait to see how it will help the plants stand out.

To help the understanding process, on the far right side of the tank, there will be a DIY "mountain" for the loaches that I am making out of rock, waterfall sealant foam and a handful of PVC as Loach caves. It will be pretty well hollow with the PVC allowing entrance into large cave that it will make. The Eggcrate you see in the pics is going to be the rough form of the "mountain".

I do plan on adding a handfull of red-claw crabs to this tank as well, which accounts for water level and the turtle dock above the large piece of driftwood.

Let me know what you guys and gals think so far.

Various shots of the substrate and DW, no plants yet. Had to wait untill the temp got up from 52 degrees F.

A couple more pics, with most of the plants and a few Barbs added in to help with the cycling process. I had the tank running for a week or so before adding anything into it. Of course, there are a handfull of snails that came with the plants. I am sure that they will help make the CL's move much more enjoyable. :D

Sweet! Glad to hear its going well. What kind of snails did you "adopt"? Ramshorn, Pond, MTS...?

Heck if know, most probably nuisance snails. I only have one that looks really funky. Might try to grab a pic of it later this week. Sunday I am going to have help moving everyone else out of the 75G.

On a positive note, I have seen at least three of my Amano Shrimp in the last two days, and they are almost as big as the "baby" Cl's!! Just over an inch +/- in length they are actually bigger than my peppered Corys Pretty good stuff!
